From Wiki Athletic
Jump to: navigation, search

Editing Wiki Athletic may sound daunting to the uninitiated, but it is relatively simple to grasp. Don't forget that when editing, you should always use the Show preview button at the bottom of the page next to the Save page button. If the preview page looks correct, then go ahead and save.

For a list of all help topics, see Help.

For an editing quick guide, see Help:Wiki markup.

Begin here

We've broken down the instructions into the following five simple points. As with any task, there are a couple of further techniques and intricacies to be observed, and these are detailed below.

  • Log in or create an account (at the top right of every page)
  • Open the page you wish to edit. Click the 'Edit' button on the top right immediately above the page text;
  • An edit window will open, with the contents of your page in wiki markup;
  • Make the changes you need to the text (consult Help:Wiki markup for assistance);
  • Click on the Show preview button at the bottom of the text. The page will appear 'as seen', so please proof-read your changes now and make sure you're happy with them;
  • At the bottom of the same page, click on the Save page button. Your page will now appear with the changes saved.

Using a template

Templates allow authors to display consistent information across similar pages. Doing so will ultimately make Wiki Athletic easy to use as a source of information. The templates can be easily copied onto a new or existing page and edited. For a complete list and instructions, see Templates.

And finally...

Always preview

Preview a page before saving by clicking on the Show preview button. Please proof-read your work and check any mistakes.
